Designed for artists who want the precision, paint capacity, and iconic shape of natural Kolinsky sable without using animal products, Trekell Protégé brushes deliver exceptional control, responsiveness, and versatility across watercolor, acrylic, oil, gouache, ink, and enamel.

Like all Trekell premium synthetic brushes, Protégé features a blend of varying filament diameters with carefully tapered tips that more closely mimic the performance of natural brush hair. Combined with our specialized Thermyx™ filament inspired by natural Kolinsky sable, these brushes provide exceptional paint pickup, smooth paint flow, crisp detail, and responsive handling with a firmer feel and stronger snap than natural hair.

The Wash shape features a broad, flat profile designed to hold a generous amount of water and pigment for smooth, even application. It's ideal for laying down large washes, wetting paper, applying backgrounds, and creating soft transitions with excellent coverage and control.

Built to Last

Each brush is made with Trekell's Thermyx™ filament. During manufacturing, the bristles are heat-set to create built-in shape memory that helps the brush maintain its clean point, snap, and performance over time.

If the bristles begin to lose their shape, dip them in simmering water for a few seconds to help restore them closer to their original form. Reshape the bristles while warm and allow them to dry in place.

For even longer-lasting performance, apply Trekell Brush Restorer while the bristles dry to help them hold their shape between painting sessions.
