These rubies are round cut stones. Each purchase is for one stone. These are man made, lab grown rubies (possessing a very similar chemical composition to natural rubies), hence the much lower price.
For sale are man made rubies that originate from Thailand. These rubies have an almost identical chemical composition to earth mined, natural rubies with the exception that they have been generated (grown) in a lab using the Verneuil method. They have the same hardness, density, and overall appearance as their natural counterparts. This process This process involves dropping powdered chemicals through a high-temperature flame, where it melts and falls onto a rotating pedestal to produce a synthetic crystal.
