Girit Red Cotton Linen Towel

The boldest colourway in the Girit line: a clear red stripe on off-white cotton and linen, finished with hand-knotted fringe. Where our natural tones disappear into a room, the Girit Red is meant to be seen — on a white bathroom rail, over a deck chair, or as the towel you can actually spot from the water.

What makes it a peshtemal

• Flat-woven, not looped. It holds less water than terry, so it dries between swims instead of turning heavy in a beach bag.
• Sand shakes straight off. There is no pile for grit to bury itself in.
• Folds flat. Two of these take less room than one terry bath sheet.
• Colour that holds. Wash cool and skip bleach and the red stays saturated rather than fading pink.

Care

Wash before first use. Cool wash, tumble dry low, no fabric softener — it coats the fibres and cuts absorbency. Wash reds with reds for the first two or three cycles. The weave softens and absorbs better with every wash.
